GLOBAL PLAYER, HARMONY ENERGY, APPOINTS HARROGATE’S THE BIG BAMBOO AGENCY

Harmony Energy, one of the UK’s leading developers, owners and operators of utility-scale battery energy storage and wind and solar projects, has appointed Harrogate’s The Big Bamboo Agency to support it with strategic marketing and communications.

Harmony has successfully developed renewable projects across multiple technologies throughout the UK as well accelerating development activities in France and New Zealand. The company has a long-standing relationship with Tesla, which has provided state-of-the-art battery systems for its UK sites.

Big Bamboo has taken on the role in support of the company’s growth plans, covering strategic marketing, PR, social media management and community engagement initiatives. It will also deliver graphic design and video production for a range of marketing materials.

Harmony Energy was introduced to Nicola Stamford, Owner and Founding Director of the agency following a recommendation. Pete Kavanagh, CEO of the firm, says of the appointment: “We were looking for an agency that would become an outsourced marketing and communications team, as an extension of the wider team we already have in place. We wanted to find a partner that we could build a long-term trusted relationship with.

“Having met Nicola and other members of the team, we knew we had found what we were looking for. Their experience and capabilities fit nicely with ours and we know they will understand our industry, due to their extensive credentials.

Nicola Stamford, adds: “We were delighted to receive an enquiry from global company Harmony Energy, which just so happens to be head quartered in the neighbouring town of Knaresborough.

“We started working with them on the 1st September, as a partner on a retained basis. We’ve got off to a busy start and look forward to building a long term relationship with the team for the future.”

In the UK, Harmony Energy is in the final stages of developing a major battery energy storage facility at Pillswood, near Cottingham, in East Yorkshire. When finished later this year, the new facility will have the capacity to store up to 198 megawatt hours of power to feed directly back into the network, making it the largest battery energy storage facility in the UK.
